Benzoin (20% in DPG) resinoid

Benzoin is a warming resin with soothing, warming and uplifting properties.

Benzoin is a very useful addition to any foot or hand cream.

It soothes redness and irritation and prevents and treats cracked and chapped hands and feet. So it’s the ideal choice if you have done a lot of gardening!

Benzoin is a component of Friar’s Balsam, which has a long history of use for respiratory problems. Use benzoin in an oil burner or as a chest rub. It is especially beneficial before bedtime as a chest rub as its relaxing properties enable you to sleep deeply too.

On an emotional level benzoin helps to create a padding between you and the world. So if you are having a difficult time this is a fabulous choice to help relieve the strain. This is one of my oils of choice when treating the recently bereaved.

On a spiritual level Benzoin helps us to create detachment.

DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL (DPG) is a colourless, nearly odourless liquid with a high boiling point and low toxicity. It is a mixture of three isomeric chemical compounds, 4-oxa-2,6-heptandiol, 2-(2-Hydroxy-propoxy)-propan-1-ol, and 2-(2-Hydroxy-1-methyl-ethoxy)-propan-1-ol.
