Commiphora erythraea

Opoponax essential oil, distilled from the resin of Commiphora erythraea (often called Sweet Myrrh), is a warm, rich aromatic material prized in perfumery and traditional aromatic practices. The oil has a deep balsamic aroma with notes that are sweet, resinous, and subtly smoky, sometimes compared to a softer, sweeter version of myrrh. Its complex fragrance profile makes it popular in oriental, amber, incense, and woody perfume compositions.
